APC reps candidate, Dennis Idahosa promises sustainable constituency projects

Ugbogui (Edo) The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ovia Federal Constituency in Edo, Mr Dennis Idahosa, has promised to only execute sustainable constituency projects when elected.

Idahosa made the promised when he visited dukes of Ugbogui, Siloko, Usen, Udo, Ugolor and others, as part of his campaign to tour of the Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo, on Monday.

He said it is regrettable that of several constituency projects scattered across the country, only few were in a functional state.

Idahosa said this was occasioned by the fact that most of these projects were not sustainable.

According to him, "No longer I we going to have projects that will not stand the eyes of time; projects that barely last a year after inauguration.

"We are going to have enduring projects that will not only be beneficial to the people, but that which will serve the people for a very long time."

Idahosa told the clan heads that his election as a member of the House of Representatives would only end with the attraction of various developmental projects to the area, issues of empowerment would also be given a priority.

He specifically mentioned that he would use half of his salary to empower the women of the constituency.

As for the youths, "I ensure that skill acquisition centres will be built so that our youths will get the proper training after which starter-packs will be provided for them," he said.

The Duke of Ugbogui, Francis Akenzua, frowned at the way politicians always reneged on their electoral promises to the people.

He said politicians should always strive to see to it the people whose  mandate they enjoy, were happy.
