Election: RTEAN Signs MoU with INEC on Movement of Logistics

Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) on Thursday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the movement of logistics during the forthcoming general election.

The National President of RTEAN, Mr Osakpamwan Eriyo, signed the MoU on behalf of the association at its headquarters in Abuja.
Mr Ben Ogbemudia, the Special Adviser on Media made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Mr Smith Sylvester, Political Adviser to the INEC National Chairman represented the chairman, Prof. Mamood Yakubu at the official signing.
The INEC chairman said the signing of the MoU was important to the commission for the movement of its logistics because it cannot afford to fail Nigerians.
He said that the commission has full trust in RTEAN, as employers of labour in providing the much needed vehicles for the logistics.
Responding, the National President of RTEAN, thanked INEC and promised to deliver to the benefit of Nigerians and the commission.
Eriyo said following the MoU entered into, his leadership would purchased three hundred buses and hundred Hilux that would be distributed to it state branches across the country.
He also debunked the rumour of any faction in the Union, saying “both myself, my executives and the former President, Musa Isiwele are working in one accord, no rift between us at all.”
The INEC chairman will officially meet the leadership of RTEAN on Friday, Jan.18, 2019 at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
